Meaning and Anti-Meaning in Life and What Happens After We Die

Abstract The absence of meaningfulness in life is meaninglessness. But what the polar opposite meaningfulness? In recent and ongoing work together with Stephen Campbell Marcello di Paola respectively, I have explored we dub ‘anti-meaning’: negative counterpart positive meaning life. Here, relate this idea ‘anti-meaningful’ actions, activities, projects to topic death, particular deaths or suffering those who will live after our own deaths. Connecting anti-meaning happens by Samuel Scheffler on he calls ‘the collective afterlife’ his four reasons care about future generations, argue that if today make choices lifestyles later lead unnecessarily early otherwise avoidable people died, robs current some their meaning, perhaps even making them meaningful long run.
